Creamy Almond Milk Shake with Chia Seeds

This thick and rich shake is packed with nutrition you can use for the day. It takes just five minutes to make and serves two.


½ cup of organic almond milk, unsweetened

¼ cup plain Greek yoghurt (option 2: coconut milk)

3 whole medjool dates, pitted

3 ripe bananas, peeled and sliced

1/3 cup of pistachios, roasted and shelled

2 tbsp of black chia seeds

2 tbsp of cocoa powder, unsweetened

1 tsp of vanilla extract


  1. Combine the chia seeds and almond milk in a bowl. Let the mixture sit for at least ten minutes.
  2. Put the medjool dates and pistachios in a food processor and blend on high until very finely chopped. Once it becomes almost like butter in texture, scrape the sides. Your aim is to achieve a texture that’s as smooth as possible.
  3. Once smooth, add the almond milk and chia seed mixture into the food processor. Then, add the remaining ingredients-sliced bananas, yoghurt, vanilla extract and cocoa powder. Blend them all together until smooth and creamy. This should take around four minutes of blending.
  4. Do a taste-test and adjust accordingly. If the texture is too thick, thin it down with more almond milk. Pour in serving glasses and serve immediately.
